Pick-kwik was a wine and spirits shop in Derby. I say was although the business name is still in existence.
However it seems to have been taken over by someone not sharing it’s previous owners passion for neither whisky nor Dickens on which the shop name is based. On it’s last registered address is now located a Boozebargain Plus shop, and the only whisky they seem to have for sale is Jameson.
Anyway, it looks like the former owner had good business contacts with both Jim Beam and Dewar’s, as well as Royal Doulton. In the mid -80’s they issued several 20cl decanters of both brands as well as many of them also issued as jugs. Most in the shape of characters from Dickens “The Pickwick Papers” or other Dickens novels.
