Founded as Ledaig Distillery on Isle of Mull in 1798, but business was no success, so it was mothballed for 50 years from 1837 to 1878.
It passed through several owners until becoming part of DCL in 1916, only to be mothballed again in 1930. And this time laying dormant until 1972.
Production was slow and it was closed yet again between 1982 and 1993.
It is now owned by South African Distell which did major upgrades to the distillery from 2017 to 2019.
