Founded in 1826 by James Allardice with help from local farmers.
Burned to the ground in 1837 but was rebuilt in 1852 into it’s current condition.
Owned by William Grant of Glenfiddich between 1920 and 1960. After that passing through different ownerships without ever really catching on, and finally mothballed in 1996.
Reopened by Pernod Richard in 2006 and sold on to Brown-Forman together with BenRiach in 2016.
