Peter Dawson has an important role in whisky history. In the 1880’s he were the owner of Auchnaghie distillery which was sold to Dewar’s in 1890. He went on to build Convalmore in 1893 and Towiemore in 1896.

In 1925 he joined the DCL group, later to become Diageo, which still owns and bottles the brand.
